    Guangxi Water & Electric Power Construction Group Co., Ltd（GXWEP）is a large-scale state-owned electric power enterprise group, undertaking electric power engineering design, research, construction, and power production . It is a sole subsidiary of Guangxi Power Grip Corporation， a branch of China Southern Grid. GXWEP has 11 sole subsidiaries, 4 branches and 8 proprietary (shareholding) companies. GXWEP is one of the largest China enterprise group with total asset over RMB 10 billion. GXWEP now owns an installed capacity of 600MW, which is capable of producing electric power of 2,500 million kWh yearly. So far, GXWEP has a staff of over 16,000, including various professionals of over 4,000. GXWEP has been certified Authentication Certificate of Quality, Environment, Vocational health and Safety Management System, by Beijing New Century Certification co. Ltd; and certified Auditing and Registration Certifications by National Quality Assurance Co. Ltd, UK.
    Scope of Business
    The business of GXWEP covers contracting, investigation, design, test, construction, installation and consultancy of domestic and overseas water conservancy, hydropower, power transmission (distribution) and civil engineering works; construction of roads, bridges and foundation works; operation of power plants; fabrication of metal structures; technical consultancy of electric power; development of real estates; tourism and hotel industry etc
    Qualification
    GXWEP owns Grade A qualification in the fields of investigation and design for water conservancy and hydropower projects; Grade A general contracting qualification for buildings construction; Grade A consulting qualification for water conservancy and hydropower projects, buildings and municipal works. GXWEP is provided with abilities of investigation, design, construction and consultancy for large (medium)-scale thermal power plants and hydropower projects, power transmission (distribution) lines, roads and bridges, civil and industrial buildings, and municipal works etc
    Civil and Industrial Buildings and Consultancy
    The company obtained rich experience and capacity in the construction of high-rise buildings, housing works, motorway and municipal works. Main civil and industrial buildings under GXWEP’s design and construction include Minghu Classic Business Building (31 storeys, Nanning City), Zhongyi Business Buildings (26 storeys, Liuzhou City), Flood Control Works (Liuzhou City), Guilin-Wuzhou Motorway, Nannning-Shuiren motorway, Multiple works in Yanghe Development District (Liuzhou City) and Chencun Water Treatment Plant (Nanning City) etc.
    Investigation and Design of Electric Power Engineering
    GXWEP has strong technique and professionals for project investigation and design. GXWEP has successful records of investigation and design in large hydropower project of over thousand MW, large power project and extra-high tension transmission lines. GXWEP has completed hundreds of electric power projects in investigation and design, thousands of transmission lines and substations projects, and hundreds of hydropower projects. Yantan hydropower station, with capacity of 1210MW, was awarded National Golden Prize for Excellent Project and Satisfactory Work to Client Prize in China.
    Construction of Hydropower Projects
    As one of the strongest hydropower construction company in China, GXWEP has completed hundreds of hydropower stations inChina and overseas. These completed projects include all large and middle scale hydropower projects in Guangxi province, Wanjiakouzi Hydropower station in Yunnan province, Harmodun hydropower station in Xinjiang province, Allai Khwar Hydropower Station and Jinnah Hydropower Station in Pakistan, Mugere Hydropower Station in Burundi. Yantan Hydropower Station and Guigang Multipurpose Projects were respectively awarded Luban Prizes for Construction Works, the highest honor in China. GXWEP becomes the second company who has been awarded twice Luban Prize in the history of China electric power construction.
    Thermal Power Projects
    GXWEP is the only one Grade A construction enterprise in Guangxi which is equipped with the ability to carry out construction and installation of large-scale thermal power plants with complete set of equipments. And it is also capable of simultaneously undertaking the construction of several large/medium-scale power projects and large-scale thermal power generator units with capacity of 600MW or above. The main thermal power plants constructed by GXWEP includes Tiandong Thermal Plant, Heshan Thermal Power Plant, Laibin B Thermal Power Plant, Hengyun Thermal Power Plant (Guangdong Province), Fangchenggang Thermal Power Plant and H?i phòng Thermal Power Plant (Vietnam). In this field, GXWEP has been awarded First Grade Excellent Construction Prize issued by the government.
    Transmission lines and substations
    GXWEP is capable of undertaking substation construction in varies grades of voltages and electrical equipment installation, transmission line erection and optical cable laying etc. GXWEP has the ability to complete simultaneously transmission lines of 500kV, substations of 500kV, and transmission lines of 220kV substations of 220kV. Dozens of projects have been awarded Excellent Projects Prizes.
    Overseas Projects
    GXWEP actively practices “Going out” strategy and has developed overseas business in Burundi, Angola, Malaysia, Pakistan and Vietnam etc.; undertaking varies of projects, including hydropower projects, thermal power plants, roads, bridges and civil engineering works. GXWEP obtains excellent achievements on foreign project contracting and rich experience in overseas project construction and management. And GXWEP has established agencies in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Burma, Cambodia, Chile and Angola. Overseas projects completed include hydropower, thermal power, transmission lines and substation, highway, civil building and municipal projects.
    Construction Equipment
    GXWEP equips with series advanced construction plants and equipment suitable for hydropower, thermal power, transmission lines and substation and civil building construction, as well as equipment for test and operation. GXWEP has also automatic production lines for electric tower, and transportation vehicles for extra large equipment.
    In recent years, with the state development opportunities of Western Development and Electricity Transmission from the Western Areas to east China, GXWEP has exploited its group advantages to fulfill its diversity development strategy. GXWEP has actively invested and completed many large hydropower thermal power projects, such as Tiandong Thermal Power Extension Plant ), Fangchenggang Thermal Power Plant and Hechi Xiaqiao Hydropower Station, etc. GXWEP also invests in highway projects, ie. Guilin-Wuzhou Superhighway, as well as Guilin Electric Power Hotel, etc.
